The Legacy Path opens into optional in-person memorial work and storytelling workshops. Where the online modules teach story-gathering, ceremony, peer circles, and digital legacy, the workshops are where remembrance is practised in community — and where you build the capstone project that earns the Story Guide credential.

The remembrance path. Learn story-gathering, ceremony design, peer circles, and digital legacy — helping the bereaved tell, keep, and carry a loved one's story forward. The five online modules teach the craft. The workshops are where that craft becomes a real remembrance, held by a real community — and where you build the capstone project.

Everlight Story Guide

16 hrs online · + capstone project

The capstone is required; the workshops support it. Workshops are optional, not a requirement to begin the online modules. The capstone project IS required for the Everlight Story Guide credential. Workshops carry a separate fee; community circles are offered on a sliding scale.

The Story Table

Community space · monthly weekend workshops

A monthly weekend workshop where families bring photographs, letters, and keepsakes and learn to gather a loved one's story together — guided by a Story Guide in training.

Legacy Interview Studio

Studio · quarterly recording days

A quarterly recording day. Practise the legacy interview — open questions, patient listening, consent — with a consenting elder, and leave with a recorded story to steward.

Seasonal memorial gatherings where cohorts hold a co-designed remembrance ceremony — practising ceremony design, peer circles, and ethical storytelling in front of a real community.

Local Remembrance Practice

Practice close to home

Story-harvest clinics

Drop-in clinics where a learner practises the legacy interview with a consenting participant, reviewed by a Story Guide mentor.

Peer grief circles

Hold and witness a small peer circle using the structure taught in leg-3, with an Everlight guide present.

Ceremony design labs

Co-design a remembrance ceremony with a consenting family, then run it in the Remembrance Room, recorded as a PracticumLogEntry.

Six steps to your Story Guide credential

Choose a keeper & subject

leg-1 · Legacy Story Harvesting

Identify a consenting participant and the family member or steward who will hold the story. Sign a simple consent and safekeeping agreement.

Gather the story

leg-1 · Legacy Story Harvesting

Conduct two legacy interviews using open questions and patient listening. Record audio with permission and gather the small true details.

Shape the remembrance

leg-2 · Remembrance Ceremony Design

Co-design a remembrance ceremony with the family — order of service, shared memories, held objects — keeping the person at the centre, not a template.

Hold the circle

leg-3 · Facilitating Peer Grief Circles

Facilitate one peer grief circle using the opening–sharing–witnessing–closing structure. Reflect on what the circle taught you about witnessing.

Deliverable:Facilitated circle + reflection

Build the story vault

leg-4 · Digital Memorial & Story Vault

Steward the gathered story into a gentle digital memorial and a small story vault entry, with consent and privacy boundaries fixed.

Deliverable:Digital memorial + vault handover

Present & pass review

leg-5 · Compassionate Leadership

Present the complete project — interview, artefact, ceremony, vault — for assessment against the restorative storytelling rubric. Pass to earn the Story Guide credential.

Deliverable:Capstone presentation + review

Each step is tied to a Legacy Path module. The full arc is your practicum, assessed against the restorative storytelling rubric in leg-5. Retakes are supported, not penalised.
